Hope all had a great Hayride weekend. I'm sure we'll hear from Matt this week on how things went, but my sense is that we had a very successful event.
It's all about the time...

I spotted and
Op-Ed piece by Thomas Friedman this weekend in the NYTimes and I thought it was an interesting take on, at least one aspect, of the current state of education in the US. Friedman took a trip to China and made some interesting comparisons to the Chinese system which is making phenomenal strides in public education. Most interesting among his observations, the key to their successes in the improvement of public education in Shanghai, "...
A deep commitment to teacher training, peer-to-peer learning and constant professional development...". It's a quick read and I thought some might find it interesting.
Cell Phone Survey...
We conducted the survey and published a brief analysis a few weeks ago.
Hopefully, you have shared the results with your students. So what's your main take away? Mine is that students have sufficient access to the internet and computing resources to allow online assignments and lesson materials (videos, handouts, readings). The number of those without is small enough to be a manageable problem. What's your take away?
