Safety and Security Online

We all know that viruses, trojans, malware, phishing, con artists, and lots of other creepy stuff inhabit the world wide web along side all those fabulous sites, apps, videos we use with our students.  What's not always clear is how to defend yourself and your computer.

Google recently published on their "official blog" a summary of the blog posts over the month of October (National Cyber Security Awareness Month) related to cyber security, privacy protection, and online safety. Some of the hints and suggestions are obvious ones (like don't share your password) but many others may be new information.   It's worth a look.

Get free virus protection
A quality virus scanning and protection program is available at www.malwarebytes.org.  A higher function, more sophisticated service is available for a fee, but the free program is excellent, especially for home use.
