So here are a couple free and easy to use communication tools you can use to help. If you're already using Twitter, these tools can help manage and track the communications. We know that frequent and timely communication matters. According to research done by Bitly (a popular URL shortening and sharing service) in 2011, the half-life of a link on Twitter and Facebook is 2.8 and 3.2 hours respectively. [The half-life of a link refers to the amount of time it takes for a link to reach one-half of the number of clicks it will ever receive.] Read more at Free Technology for Teachers.

Hi Mike, thanks for doing these blogs. Vying interests me, do you know if there is a trial period you can sign up for? with all these new technology platforms, it would be great to take them for a spin before paying for them. which brings me to another question,
ReplyDeleteThe basic service I believe is only $5/mo. I don't think their is a trial period, except that since it's a month to month deal, you can evaluate for one month and decide at a cost of $5.
DeleteSorry I couldn't continue typing once I started back spacing. I was wondering with the services that have fees(even though nominal) if there is possible school support.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the question and input. I don't know, but I will raise this with my next meeting with Tammy. I think it could be a very worthwhile expense. We might even be able to get it for free as an organization with a public endorsement. You never know.
