Hopefully, you've all had an opportunity to at least log in to verify that your account has been created. I highly recommend that you try accessing the TeachPoint system from all the devices you think you be using regularly - home PC, tablets, school PCs.
Be sure to set-up your profile and make sure the email address is the one you want to use for TeachPoint. This is the email address that will receive any notices, such as your supervisor entering an evaluation or classroom walk-through. Click the gear in the upper right of the dashboard to get to the profile page.
Be sure to watch the training video, it really helps. You can access this directly with this link, or select Help, then Teachers and Evaluators.
A few Important Points to Keep in Mind
As you will see in the video, there are three ways you can upload a file: to a form in general, to a specific question on or form, or you can upload a file from the dashboard unattached to any specific form (the up arrow icon). It is recommended to use one of the first two methods and not upload from the dashboard.
When you upload a file from the dashboard, the system will not display any confirmation message, icon or any indication that it has successfully uploaded the file. After you fill in the form, choose the file and click SAVE. It appears that the system has simply ignored your request but, oddly, it has uploaded the file. To verify, on the right side click the download button and the file you just uploaded will be downloaded (not deleted). Crazy, I know. But that's how it works. When you click Done, the entry is in your dashboard, but does not show an attachment (even though it is there). And that's why the other methods are recommended.
When you upload in a form, you will see an upload page to describe the item being uploaded. After you fill in the form, choose the file and click SAVE. It appears that the system has simply ignored your request but, oddly, it has uploaded the file. Click Done; in the original form you will see an entry of the date and time of the upload. . Crazy, I know. But that's how it works. When you click Save & Done, the entry is in your dashboard and displays the number of attachments in the "A" column.
You can't link files from Google drive, Skydrive, Dropbox, Vimeo, or other cloud storage service. TeachPoint only works with uploads of physical files. However, in your Evidence form you can include the URL for the file(s).
Remember, don't share a form until it's ready. Everytime you edit a shared form, your supervisor gets email about changes to a form. It could get tedious. When you open a form, the default is Share Off.
DO NOT SIGN any form until you're ready. Once it's signed, it is locked and uneditable. So you want to be sure it's right or you'll have to delete and start over from scratch.
