The Daunting SATs

There's been a vigorous debate about the value, purpose and usefulness of SAT score for college placement of high school students.  The piece, which aired today on NPR's Morning Edition raises several interesting questions.  The interview is with Elizabeth Kolbert who published an article inthis week's The New Yorker (Big Score: When Mom Takes the SATs) questioning the value and usefulness of SATs and standardized tests in general.  [runtime 04:48]

Elizabeh Kolbert's article is an interesting read and appears free in the online version of the New Yorker.
