Training & Professional Development Opportunities

With our professional development scheduled for this afternoon, it put me in the mind of other resources for professional growth and development, especially those you can access on your schedule and pace.


MassCUE (Mass. Computer Using Educators) offers a wide range of professional development opportunities.  Here's a link to a listing of current offerings that include a number of online courses.

EdWeb.net also offers a range of online, 1-hour webinars.  Topics include various ed tech applications, individual subject matter topics, as well as general education, classroom management, and curriculum development.

Powerful Learning Practice (PLP) is a site devoted to connecting educators in personal learning networks.  The site has interesting article, book reviews, and offers a variety of self-paced courses (although not free).  Check out the recent review of Marsha Ratzal's  book Teaching in High Gear which recounts her transformational journey to a student-driven, inquiry-based science classroom.
