What Students and Parents Expect

Our recent survey of Aggie students regarding their access and use of digital devices - mobile phones, tablets, computers - was certainly revealing, if not too surprising.  Hopefully, you've shared the results with your students.  If not, I encourage you to do so at this week's X-Block period.

Another dimension of the same topic has to do with the expectations, of both students and parents, for the learning environment.  Below is a telling graphic lifted from a recent report prepared by Grunwald Associates prepared from a research study they conducted for Learning First Alliance.  It certainly appears from this data that overwhelmingly, parents expect their children to use mobile devices in school because it will improve the educational experience.
